Tax Time

So everyone knows that there are always lines at the post office, but since I can't go into the post office, I didn't realize that I'd ever have to wait in line at one.

But that was before I knew about taxes. Apparently, my people always owe money on their taxes, so they wait until the last possible moment to send, through the mail, their stuff to Uncle Sam. Apparently this allows them to cling to the illusion that the money is theirs for a few extra days before it gets swept away. Now I think this is crazy, and thought it was crazy last night until we got to the only open post office and had to wait in traffic for a half an hour to drop off two little teeny envelopes.

The cool part was that the post office was by the airport, so we were stuck in traffic with planes flying overhead, which was pretty cool.

Apparently this is a tradition, so unless they actually change their W-4s, I think I know where I'll be next April 15.
